Real-time Alarm and Event Display, Logging and Notification EventServer lets you distribute great looking display terminals across desktops and control rooms, log historical data and notify personnel of critical events by email, phone, SMS and 2-way radio. Screen Shot...
EventServer is a flexible system that displays, logs, and takes action on real-time alarms, events and other forms of textual data. Multiple concurrent interfaces provide connections to systems using RS232, OPC and virtual print servers. Incoming data is displayed, logged and actioned based on configured user settings. Initiated actions can include sending priority e-mails, text messages (sms), executing other applications, and speech over phone and 2-way radio systems. The diagram below shows Events Server's main functions and data flow:
Event Server can be installed stand alone on a single PC or deployed across networks. For basic data logging and display, a PIII PC running at 550MHz on any Windows operating system is more than sufficient. Any number of interface connections can be configured. Connection methods include RS232, OPC-A&E, OPC-D/A, Print and E-mail Servers. Each connection independently manages data translation, logging and actions. This provides concurrent data handling across platforms including Honeywell, Foxboro, ABB, Emerson, Rockwell and proprietary systems. Event Server logs all incoming data in various formats including flat text, which can be further compressed in zip format. With compression 100,000 lines of text will use about 1MB of hard disk space making it possible to maintain years of data on-line. As well, Event Server supports AlarmAnalyst native format for interactive graphical analysis of alarms, events and process data.
